Guide to Livestreaming from OBS to Facebook/Youtube


Step 1: Create a New Session

On the StreamMix main screen, select "Live Session" (located in the left-hand toolbar).



On the Live Session page, click the "New Session" button.



Next, enter the name of your livestream session in the "Name" section. The "ID" will automatically copy the content you entered.


Once you've filled in the necessary information, click the "Add" button.


Step 2: Create an RTMP Link

After successfully creating a New Session, the main screen will transition to a new interface. Here, select the "New Component" button.



Next, click on the "RTMP Server" option. When the RTMP window appears, click the "Add" icon.




Once the RTMP link window appears, click the "Start Server" button to create the RTMP link.



In just a few seconds, the RTMP link will appear. Copy this RTMP link and paste it into your OBS application.



Step 3: Adjust Settings in OBS

In OBS, click "Settings" in the bottom-right corner of the screen (with OBS version 23).


In the "Settings" area, select "Stream" in the left-hand toolbar. Under the "Service" section, choose "Custom."


Step 4: Paste the RTMP Link into OBS

The RTMP link created in StreamMix is in the following format:



To add the RTMP link to OBS, StreamMix has divided the link into Server and Stream Key, as shown in the image above. Paste these two parts into the Server and Stream Key fields in OBS.



Click "Apply" and "OK" to complete the process.


Step 5: Transmit the Livestream Signal from OBS to StreamMix

In OBS, click the "Start Streaming" button.



When OBS successfully starts the live stream, the signal will be transmitted to StreamMix.



Step 6: Retrieve the Stream Key from Facebook/Youtube


Step 6.1: Retrieve the Stream Key for Facebook

On the Facebook status bar, click on "Live Video."


The setup interface for Live Video will appear. Select "Go Live."



Under "Select a video source," select "Streaming Software" under "Live streaming software set up" Here, Facebook will provide you with a Stream Key. We will copy this Stream Key for the next step.


Note: Remember to add a description for your livestream on Facebook!


Step 6.2: Retrieve the Stream Key for Youtube


On YouTube, click on your account icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Select "Your channel."



On your channel, click "Create," then choose "Go live."



Note: For individuals who still need to register for live streaming, YouTube will review and grant this feature within 24 hours.


Copy the "Stream key" (paste in encoder) to retrieve the Stream Key.


Step 7: Forward the Livestream Link to Facebook/Youtube


In the StreamMix livestream interface, click "New Component." The "Add a Component" window will appear; select "Forward Stream."




In the Forward Stream frame, you'll input the following information:

  • Source: Choose the signal you successfully transmitted from OBS to StreamMix.

  • Select Platform: Choose the Facebook or Youtube icon.

  • Stream Key: Paste the Stream Key you obtained in step 6.


After filling in all the necessary information, click "Add."


Step 8: Start Livestreaming on Facebook.


In the Forward Stream frame, click "Start Server" to redirect the livestream from OBS to Facebook.



You'll need to wait 15 to 30 seconds for StreamMix to redirect the signal from OBS to your Facebook livestream.



Note: For live streaming on Youtube, follow the steps as in step 8, but use the Stream Key obtained from Youtube.
