Guide To Livestreaming From OBS, vMix to TikTok Using StreamMix

Part I: Creating an RTMP Link on StreamMix


Step 1: Create a New Session

On the StreamMix main screen, select "Live Session" (located in the left-hand toolbar).



On the Live Session page, click the "New Session" button.



Next, enter the name of your livestream session in the "Name" section. The "ID" will automatically copy the content you entered.



Once you've filled in the necessary information, click the "Add" button.


Step 2: Create an RTMP Link

After successfully creating a New Session, the main screen will transition to a new interface. Here, select the "New Component" button.



Next, click on the "RTMP Server" option. When the RTMP window appears, click the "Add" icon.




Once the RTMP link window appears, click the "Start Server" button to create the RTMP link.



In just a few seconds, the RTMP link will appear. Copy this RTMP link and paste it into your OBS application.



Part II: Transmitting the Signal from OBS to StreamMix

Step 3: Adjust OBS Settings

In OBS, click "Settings" in the bottom-right corner of the screen (with OBS version 23).



In the "Settings" area, select "Stream" in the left-hand toolbar. Under the "Service" section, choose "Custom."



Step 4: Paste the RTMP Link into OBS

The RTMP link created in StreamMix is in the following format:



To add the RTMP link to OBS, StreamMix has divided the link into Server and Stream Key, as shown in the image above. Paste these two parts into the Server and Stream Key fields in OBS.



Click "Apply" and "OK" to complete the process.


Step 5: Transmit the Livestream Signal from OBS to StreamMix

In OBS, click the "Start Streaming" button.



When OBS successfully starts the livestream, the signal will be transmitted to StreamMix.



Part III: Redirecting the Livestream to TikTok


Step 6: Retrieve TikTok Session ID

To obtain the TikTok Session ID, you must install a Google Chrome extension named "Get Facebook Video URL."



Afterward, log in to your TikTok account on your laptop or desktop.


Then, click on the "Get Facebook Video URL" extension you installed earlier. Click "Get Session ID." An ID will appear; click the copy icon to retrieve that ID.



Step 7: Redirecting the Livestream from OBS to TikTok

In the StreamMix interface, click "New Component." The "Add a Component" window will appear; select "Forward Stream."



In the Forward Stream frame, input the following information:

  • Source: Choose the signal you successfully transmitted from OBS to StreamMix.

  • Select Platform: Choose the TikTok icon.

  • Session ID: Paste the previously saved Session ID.

  • Title: Provide a title for your TikTok livestream.

  • Category: Specify the type your livestream is targeting.



After filling in all the necessary information, click "Add."


Step 8: Livestreaming on TikTok

In the Forward Stream frame, click "Start Server" to redirect the livestream from OBS to TikTok.



You'll need to wait 15 to 30 seconds for StreamMix to redirect the signal from OBS to your TikTok livestream.
